Episonic AI Product Terms

Effective Date: February 22, 2026
Last Updated: February 22, 2026

These AI Product Terms ("AI Terms") govern your use of AI-powered features within the Episonic platform, including your interactions with Lauralai, our AI agent. These AI Terms are part of, and subject to, the Episonic Terms of Service (the "Terms"). Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms.

By using any AI-powered feature of Episonic, you agree to these AI Terms in addition to the Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Acceptable Use Policy.

1. What Lauralai Is (and Isn't)

Lauralai is an artificial intelligence agent designed to help podcasters plan, create, analyze, and improve their work. Lauralai can hold conversations, process audio and transcripts, generate written content (such as show notes, episode descriptions, and social media posts), and provide recommendations based on your podcast data.

Lauralai is not a human. Her responses are generated by AI models, not written or reviewed by a person before they reach you. She may produce responses that are inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or inappropriate. She does not have professional qualifications in any field, and her suggestions should not be treated as legal, financial, medical, or other professional advice.

You are responsible for evaluating everything Lauralai produces before you use, publish, or rely on it.

2. Definitions

"Input" means anything you provide to Lauralai or to any AI-powered feature of the Episonic platform.

"Output" means anything generated by Lauralai or any AI-powered feature in response to your Input.

"Service Data" means usage patterns, interaction logs, session metadata, and feature engagement data associated with your use of AI features.

"Technology Partners" means the third-party service providers whose AI infrastructure, models, or processing capabilities Episonic uses to power AI features.

3. Ownership of Input and Output

Your Input belongs to you. You retain all rights, title, and interest in your Input. Nothing in these AI Terms transfers ownership of your Input to Episonic.

You own your Output to the maximum extent permitted by law. Episonic does not claim ownership of Output generated for you. However, you should be aware of the following:

4. How Episonic Uses Your Input and Output

4.1 To Provide the Service

Episonic uses your Input to generate Output — that is, to do what you asked Lauralai to do. This use is necessary to provide the service and occurs regardless of your Privacy Settings.

4.2 To Train and Improve Our AI (Default: ON — You Can Change This)

By default, Episonic uses your Input, Output, and related Service Data to train, fine-tune, evaluate, and improve the AI models and features that power the platform.

You can disable this. Your Privacy Settings include a toggle labeled "Use my content to improve Episonic AI." When you turn this off, your data will not be included in future training datasets or model improvement runs. Note: For Team and Enterprise accounts, this defaults to OFF.

4.4 Technology Partners

Episonic uses the following Technology Partners to power AI features:

Partner Role
Anthropic Language model provider — powers Lauralai's conversational and content generation capabilities
OpenAI Language model provider — powers select content generation and analysis features
Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud infrastructure — hosts AI processing workloads and data storage
AssemblyAI Audio intelligence — powers transcription, speaker detection, and audio analysis
Podscan Podcast data and search — powers podcast discovery, trend analysis, and competitive insights

5. Your AI Privacy Controls

You control how your data is used for AI improvement through two separate settings in your Privacy Settings.

Toggle 1: "Use my content to improve Episonic AI"

Default setting: ON for Free, Indie, and Pro accounts; OFF for Team, Enterprise, and Guest Pass accounts.

When OFF: Your data is used only to provide the service to you in real time. It is not included in training datasets or model improvement activities.

Toggle 2: "Allow human review for quality and safety"

Default setting: ON for Free, Indie, and Pro accounts; OFF for Team, Enterprise, and Guest Pass accounts.

When OFF: Only automated systems process your data. No Episonic employee or contractor will view the content of your conversations.

6. Prohibited Uses of AI Features

When using Lauralai or any AI-powered feature of Episonic, you agree not to:

7. Accuracy, Reliability, and Your Responsibility

AI features are provided "as is." Lauralai and other AI-powered features may produce Output that is factually incorrect, incomplete, biased, or inappropriate.

You are solely responsible for evaluating Output before use. Episonic strongly recommends that you fact-check, review, and edit all Output before using it in any public or professional context.
